Pioneering study with 66 MOTOmed movement therapy devices - sport during hemodialysis
In June 2023, the sensational results of one of the largest studies on movement in patients with chronic kidney disease were published in the renowned “New England Journal of Medicine - Evidence”.
The study: Over 1,000 dialysis patients and 66 MOTOmed movement therapy devices, spread over a one-year intervention period at 21 dialysis centers.
„With DiaTT, the risk factors in dialysis patients can be positively influenced.“
Univ.-Professor Dr. med. Martin Halle, Consortium Leader
Under the supervision of trained therapists, training was individually tailored to each patient and included a strength and endurance component using MOTOmed movement therapy devices for training in supine position - with groundbreaking success.
The study produced excellent results:
• improved physical performance
• an increase in quality of life
• a reduction in hospital admissions
• in addition, the time spent in hospital was partially reduced.
